Meet Dr. J!
Dr. J (Jamesia Showers-Alford) has the blessing of living her long life dream as a veterinarian. She has been in the veterinary industry for 20 years serving 11 years as a doctor of veterinary medicine. She is a proud graduate of Tuskegee University School of Veterinary Medicine (Cum Laude). During the course of her preventative care/emergency veterinary career, she has positively touched lives all over the United States.

Dr. J is very involved in the veterinary scene. She is a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, Georgia Veterinary Medical Association, Nevada Veterinary Medical Association, Tuskegee Veterinary Alumni Association, Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, American Association of Feline Practitioners and the International Association for Animal Hospice and Palliative Care. Dr. J has also completed USDA National Veterinary Accreditation and North American Veterinary Community Human-Animal Bond Certification.

Dr. J is not only a veterinarian but a humanitarian, wife, mother of two sons (including a trisomy 13 angel), and owns a senior dog, cat, and bird. Dr. J launched her non-profit foundation Miracle Micah N Motion to remember her son's legacy. The organization not only benefits pets but children, seniors, veterans, disabled citizens, and bereaved families. She is involved in her community, church family, and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. This is Dr. J Personal Vet!
